Uninvested cash explained
Learn what uninvested cash is and how you can deposit into it and withdraw it
What is uninvested cash?
Your uninvested cash balance can be found in the Invest tab in the Stocks & Shares ISA and/or the GIA (General Investment Account).
This balance is made up of the following:
- Deposited funds
- Withdrawals from an investment fund
- Dividends paid out
- Any remaining amounts rounded down from unit purchases held for you as cash
Deposits into uninvested cash
You can deposit into your Uninvested Cash by:
- Going to the Invest tab
- Selecting either your GIA or Stocks and Shares ISA
- Tapping Uninvested Cash > Add Money.
Please ensure your bank account is linked to Chip before making a deposit.
Deposits into uninvested cash will clear by the end of the next working day.
Withdrawals from uninvested cash
When you withdraw (sell), your funds will first go to your uninvested cash balance.
You can withdraw from your uninvested cash by:
- Going to the Invest tab
- Selecting either your GIA or Stocks and Shares ISA
- Tapping on Uninvested cash > Withdraw.
The withdrawal will go to your linked bank account (you can check the account you have linked on the Profile tab) and will take 3-5 working days to land in your account.

Interest on uninvested cash
The interest is paid monthly, and you can find the current interest rate by visiting this page.
The interest is paid directly into your uninvested cash section in your Stocks and Shares ISA and/or GIA on the Invest tab.
You will see any interest you have been paid reflected on your quarterly statements.
